IMPORTANT HEALTH INFORMATION
Please avoid consuming ceremonial cacao if you are taking high doses of SSRIs. Cacao works as a mild anti-depressant, enabling the body to release natural serotonin.
When taken with SSRIs it may lead to serotonin syndrome, which is a serotonin overdose. We also suggest that pregnant woman, people with adrenal fatigue, and people with heart or high blood pressure medication should avoid cacao if they are caffeine sensitive (if you drink coffee, green tea or black tea, you are able to drink cacao).
Those on a low dose of SSRIs and drink coffee regularly, start on 10g cacao daily and see how you get on. If you start getting a headache stop drinking cacao.
